DAILY TRANSRACIAL: Bobby Jindal
Indian-American Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana has emerged as the unlikely — unlikely-hued — new face of the Republican Party and one of the youngest major politicians in the nation. Along with being on the short-list of McCain’s VP candidates last year, 37 year-old Jindal is an Evangelical Christian and is as refreshing to the GOP as Pres. Obama is to the Democrats. Along with new Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele, Jindal is profiled in this week’s New York Magazine which asks whether new and more colorful political faces can truly translate into new and more effective political ideas.
We shall see.
