TREND ALERT: Posh Pizza in NYC


We at Transracial were on New York’s fancy pizza story literally months ago — when we reported on the new posh pies popping up citywide, including Brooklyn’s Motorino (above).

Now the movement is getting national attention with this expertly-written report today on

In it, the writer comments on the economics of the new pizza boom — fancy food/low prices — and speaks with some of the main players, including veterans of New York’s hautest kitchens.

We can confirm that Time is indeed on-trend, having personally tried many of these pizzerias over the past few weeks — armed with co-tasters AG, AL and Transracial JS.

All liked what they tasted, though JS had a particular affinity for Tonda in the East Village.
