ADAM LAMBERT: Closeted Kosher Kid?

While everyone knows that Adam Lambert will — if he succeeds — become American Idol’s first (kinda/sorta/maybe/possibly) Gay winner, he will become the show’s first Jewish winner, as well.

For before he was a goth/glam soul-rocker, Lambert was a nice Jewish kid from Los Angeles who liked to sing with his Cantor on Yom Kippur and could belt out a tune or two in Hebrew.

In fact, so good was Lambert at singing in the holy tongue, that he was chosen in 2005 to perform with Israeli pop music royalty at a tribute concert to slain Israeli Prime Minster Yitzhak Rabin.

Unsurprisingly, the folks over in Israel are thrilled with the possibility of a Lambert win and he has emerged as big as a tabloid media sensation Israel-wide as he is in the USA. According to Israeli media, Lambert has family in Israel, was once quite observant and even kept Kosher for a spell.

Some say he still does.

Whatever his level of faith — Lambert will certainly need it to keep him going during the next few days.
